Pittsburgh Meanwhile, HeadSmart Labs in Pittsburgh conducted a study that indicated the pressure in the footballs used in the AFC Championship Game could have dropped 1.95 PSI from weather and field conditions alone. HeadSmart said it tested 12 new footballs that were inflated to 12.5 PSI in a 75 degree room to imitate the indoor conditions where the referees would have tested the footballs 2 hours and 15 minutes before kickoff. The footballs were then moved to a 50-degree environment to simulate the temperatures that were experienced throughout the game and were dampened to replicate the rainy conditions. “Out of the 12 footballs we tested, we found that on average, footballs dropped 1.8 PSI when being exposed to dropping temperatures and wet conditions,” the lab's report states. Again, we are never going to do it again and anything that’s close, we aren’t going to do it either.” La sua versione dei fatti ( segnali fatti in pubblico davanti ad 80mila persone e è stato giudicato un comportamento scorretto e abbiamo già pagato per quello ) è, secondo me, molto condivisibile. È stato detto che il 'lavorìo' che si effettua sui palloni per renderli conformi alle volontà dei quarterback aumenta la pressione di circa 0.5 psi. È stato detto che la differenza di temperatura in un ambiente controllato (ipotizziamo 75 F) e sul campo domenica scorsa (45 F) ha fatto scendere la pressione di entrambi i set di palloni di 1.5 psi. Il saldo è -1 psi. Se i palloni dei Colts sono stati gonfiati al massimo consentito (13.5) rientrerebbero nell'intervallo legale anche a fine partita (12.5). Mentre i palloni di NE, gonfiati a 12.5, sarebbero scesi alla pressione 'non autorizzata' di 11.5...un fenomeno inevitabile da qualunque squadra una volta che scendono le temperature. Il fatto che 11 palloni su 12 siano risultati gonfi più o meno intorno a quella pressione (ah, specifichiamo: è un RUMOR. Nessuno della lega l'ha confermato e comunque gli arbitri hanno rigonfiato i palloni all'intervallo eliminando qualunque misurazione attendibile) per me non colpevolizza ulteriormente i Patriots. Il 12esimo pallone, presumo riservato al kicker e al punter, riceve un regime di sorveglianza ben più restrittivo degli altri 11...probabilmente è conservato in un altro posto... But I'm not a scientist. E smettiamola di parlare di asterischi. L'asterisco implicherebbe che si è arrivati al Super Bowl GRAZIE a questo stratagemma, cosa che non sta né in cielo né in terra. Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported Monday that the league's investigation has zeroed in on a Patriots' locker-room attendant who was seen on surveillance video taking the footballs from the official's locker room into another room at Gillette Stadium before bringing them out to the field prior to kickoff against the Colts. Glazer reported that the person of interest was already interviewed by NFL officials. The league is trying to determine whether any wrongdoing occurred. Attorney Ted Wells, who is leading the investigation along with NFL executive vice president Jeff Pash, released a statement on the investigation Monday: "We are in the process of conducting a thorough investigation on the issue of the footballs used in the AFC Championship. This work began last week, stretched through the weekend, and is proceeding expeditiously this week notwithstanding the Super Bowl. We are following customary investigative procedures and no one should draw any conclusions about the sequence of interviews or any other steps, all of which are part of the process of doing a thorough and fair investigation. I expect the investigation to take at least several more weeks. "In the interim, it would be best if everyone involved or potentially involved in this matter avoids public comment concerning the matter until the investigation is concluded. NFL Media's Jeff Darlington tweeted early Tuesday that a fire alarm at the Patriots' hotel went off for about 10 minutes at approximately 1:30 a.m. local time. According to Darlington, the front desk called the alarm "an anomaly." Thankfully, the hotel was not on fire. Belle/bellissime quelle sui championship...poi purtroppo sono arrivate le ultime sui palloni sgonfiati e ogni volta dovevo controllare se col mouse involontariamente non ero finito sul topic del calcio Sarà un Superbowl fantastico, ci sono arrivate meritatamente le due più forti e credo proprio avrò un attimino il cuore spostato verso Tom Brady. E' già oggi probabilmente il più grande di tutti i tempi, vincendo il 4° titolo nessuno potrà più avere dubbi. Ma non perchè sono un suo tifoso o dei Patriots (spesso anzi ho tifato per le loro avversarie, come nei due superbowl precedenti contro i NY Giants, o con i Rams che mi piacevano molto di più come franchigia), ma perchè voglio assistere alla Storia di questo sport. ps: bene Dalton al pro-bowl... Come cazzo ho fatto ad appassionarmi cosi tardi di questa meraviglia di sport proprio non lo so.La corsa zoppicante di Rodgers, le difese ad un braccio di Sherman, la rimonta di Seattle e il kick finale dalle 48yds. (tu no nigma ) Brady in particolare sempre al centro della squadra, sempre con difese non grandiose, alternando RB non eccelsi e ricevitori idem (l'unico buono è stato Moss e gli ha fatto fare record nfl con 23 TD e lui ne ha lanciati ben 50!), ora con Gronk che lo ha reso già uno dei migliori TE della storia...ma per il resto è sempre stato lui l'unico vero faro dell'attacco. Un atleta pazzesco, ma non di talento puro, per esempio Rodgers ne ha molto di più, ma Tom ha quella grinta e quella determinazione che fa tanto leggenda. In più, ripeto, Joe aveva una squadra migliore, Brady in questi anni ha visto cambiare il reparto non so quante volte, sempre con giovani e "scarti" (anche Moss lo fu per certi versi) ma tenendo un ritmo di W pazzesco e sempre tra i migliori. Poi sono daccordo con snake, fare le comparazioni è sempre ridicolo, quello che volevo solo dire è che siamo di fronte ad un momento storico per chi ama questo sport e "rovinarlo" con polemiche da bar calciofilo è un peccato. Tutto quà. Poi capisco le antipatie, lo sport ci campa (e anche io ad esempio nell'nba ho qualche scheletro nell'armadio e il calcio l'ho lasciato per gli intrallazzi della juve) quindi non mi ergo a moralista e non salgo in nessun pulpito. Ognuno ha i suoi modi di vedere le cose, ma i Patriots hanno davvero fatto troppo in questi 15 anni per non comprenderne la grandezza.
